Your skills and experience for this role need to include:
- Exceptional organisational skills
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Level-headed with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision
- Fast and competent computer skills
- Multitasking across a variety of tasks throughout the day
- Passion to drive a safety culture and lead with safety first
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs is an advantage
- Relevant OHS, Safety and First Aid qualifications or experience
- Hold a current driver’s licence with clean driving record
About the Role
In this role, you’ll help shape a strong safety culture across the business, working closely with the safety manager, other safety officers, and a solid team of compliance, quality, injury management, and training pros. You’ll be the eyes and ears out in the field, doing site inspections and keeping a close watch on everything safety-related.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Improve safety standards for all employees
- Perform site safety inspections, hazard identifications and risk assessments
- Attend HSR and toolbox meetings
- Maintain and review all safety documentation and safety systems
- Provide relevant training and support to continuously improve safety
- Manage drug and alcohol testing and vaccinations programs.
- Investigate injuries and incidents and provide corrective action recommendations
- Above all, ensuring all activities are performed safely, accurately and in accordance with legislative, company and customer requirements
