Based at our state-of-the-art facility in Orange, NSW, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing driver performance and safety standards, supporting a team of over 100 drivers across the Central West region of NSW.
About the role:
We are looking for someone to join our team in this full-time role as the Senior Audit, Risk and Governance Lead at Ron Finemore Transport Wodonga (part time will be considered). This individual will be responsible for planning and executing the internal and supporting external audits and policy and procedure reviews, including risk assessments, scoping, and testing procedures. Identify and evaluate key risks and control weaknesses and develop recommendations to improve internal controls and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will possess excellent internal audit skills inclusive of understanding and applying HACCP, NHVAS, AMCAS, Comcare legislation, regulatory, and auditing standards, with an emphasis on internal audit activities, exercising professional judgement and consideration of quality, risk and commercial aspects. You will be a strong, proactive and resilient leader with a successful track record in building and managing relationships, encouraging creative thinking and influencing and managing through others to deliver positive results.
Working with the Risk and Compliance team, this individual must have industry knowledge and experience in a similar role, including knowledge of HACCP, NHVAS, WHS, Comcare, and AMCAS. The individual should be able to manage their time impeccably, pay precise attention to detail, and collaborate and work well with a team.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar Audit/Risk role with strong understanding of risks, , controls, systems, standards and supporting business processes and practice
- Prior experience in performing audits within transport, logistics and food sectors would be highly advantageous.
- Ability to engage and communicate with influence across a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external.
- A growth mindset, a strong track record in assurance/risk/controls and a solid set of core skills and competencies around stakeholder management, communication, and time management.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Possess knowledge of accreditations and standards – HACCP, NHVAS and Comcare would be highly desirable and advantageous.
- Experience and knowledge in WHS legislations and auditing standards
- Solid understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Law, Accreditation Standards and Chain of Responsibility Legislation would be desirable
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the development of the Annual Audit Plan.
- Develop the draft audit scope document for review.
- Develop the objective, risks and approach for assurance and consulting engagements to enable effective engagement planning.
- Perform assurance engagements ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control environment, compliance with legislation and regulations, policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Develop preliminary findings using root cause analysis.
- Work with management to develop acceptable solutions to address identified issues or gaps and follow up with management to ensure remediation is implemented.
- Undertake consulting and advisory engagements to provide proactive advice to management, facilitate continuous improvement, and contribute to best-practice processes, systems, and controls.
- Interact with company’s key stakeholders to build / maintain ongoing business relationships by utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Perform effective risk and control assessments.
- Complete audits on time and submit reports.
- Present audit findings and find ways to increase efficiency.
- Participate, coordinate, and prepare for external audit and compliance reviews.
- Prepare regular audit, compliance, and management reporting.
- Track, monitor and report key changes and relevant legislation and regulation updates.
- Participate and undertake the review and development of policies and procedures.
