About the Role
In this role, you’ll help shape a strong safety culture across the business, working closely with the safety manager, other safety officers and solid team of compliance, quality and injury management. You’ll be the eyes and ears out in the field, doing site inspections and keeping a close watch on everything safety-related.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Improving safety standards for all employees
· Perform site safety inspections, hazard identifications and risk assessments
· Attend HSR and toolbox meetings
· Maintain and review all safety documentation and safety systems
· Provide relevant training and support to continuously improve safety
· Manage drug and alcohol testing and vaccinations programs.
· Investigate injuries and incidents and provide corrective action recommendations
· Above all, ensuring all activities are performed safely, accurately and in accordance with legislative, company and customer requirements

A huge plus if you have experience with heavy vehicle driving and training, but we know that’s a rare find.
Skills and experience for this role include:
· Exceptional organisational skills
· A keen eye for detail and accuracy
· Level-headed with the ability to remain calm under pressure
· Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision
· Fast and competent computer skills
· Passion to drive a safety culture and lead with safety first
· Experience in developing and delivering training programs is an advantage
· Relevant OHS, Safety and First Aid qualifications or experience
· Hold a current driver’s licence with clean driving record
· A current Cert IV in Training and Assessment/ Knowledge of the Heavy Vehicle transport industry will be an advantage
