About Healthy Heads

The recently developed National Mental Health and Wellbeing Roadmap is a big step in the right direction to creating a healthy working environment.

This is the first industry led and industry specific strategy for the road transport, warehousing, and logistics industries.

In conjunction with Woolworths, Linfox, Coles, Qube and Toll, Ron Finemore Transport stands united in this new industry program. The mental health and well- being of our drivers is the combined responsibility of our industry as a whole.

Our Managing Director, Mark Parry is a member of the HHTS board and says “The transport and logistics industry in Australia is a diverse environment and workers are subject to unique risks, including long working hours, shift work, isolation and fatigue”.

Why Healthy Heads?

Ron Finemore Transport is proud to support Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds (HHTS) as they aim to be the mental health umbrella body for our industry.

In the transport and logistics industry there is a disproportionate amount of mental health problems with industry statistics indicating that one in five truck drivers have suffered a mental health episode, and more than 13 per cent are diagnosed with depression.

The HHTS initiative will have three key areas of focus: training in mental health, standard policies and procedures to reduce stress in the work environment and wellness; helping drivers become healthier from a balanced diet and mental health perspective.

The organisation will also collaborate with well-established service partners and use the Healthy Heads platform to elevate current initiatives and provide access to those who are most in need.
