What we’re looking for:
- MC licence with at least 5 years’ heavy vehicle driving experience (more highly regarded)
- Strong knowledge of WHS and COR requirements
- Experience with supermarket DC deliveries, including rear and finger docks
- Hands-on coaching skills – you’re someone drivers naturally learn from
- Confident communicator who can give feedback clearly and record training using mobile/tablet systems
- Calm, approachable, and down-to-earth – drivers respect you because you’ve “been there, done that”
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is desirable but not required upfront – RFT will support you to complete it within your first six months.
About the role
As a Driver Trainer at RFT Wodonga, you’ll:
- Train, review, and coach drivers in the yard and on the road
- Conduct driver recruitment assessments and interviews
- Support inductions and on-road observations
- Carry out drug and alcohol testing, coupling checks, and site inspections
- Complete driver reviews at 1 and 3 months
- Travel occasionally to support other depots (Melbourne, Wagga, Sydney)
- Report on training and driver activities using mobile technology (minimal office time)
This is a full-time, permanent role based at RFT’s head office in Wodonga, reporting into the General Divisions Operations team.
